Day 6: Sighisoara - Rupea - Brasov - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

• We begin our day in Sighisoara, the "Pearl of Transylvania." As one of the seven historic Transylvanian cities, it is a founding member of the "Siebenbürgen" (Seven Cities).

Sighisoara is famously connected to the Dracula legend and stands as the only medieval citadel in Europe that has been entirely and continuously inhabited since its construction—proudly earning its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site”. It was in this beautiful city that the famous Prince Vlad Tepes (known as "Vlad the Impaler") was born in 1431, inside the "Casa Vlad Dracul". The name Dracul (Dracula) originates from the medieval Order of the Dragon, whose members included Prince Vlad II Dracul, the father of Vlad Tepes.

Fun Fact: The connection between the real Vlad Tepes (Prince of Wallachia) and Bram Stoker's vampire is, of course, pure fiction popularized by novelists and filmmakers. In reality, Vlad Tepes was a fierce defender of Christianity who repeatedly defeated the Ottoman Empire.

• 10.00 We will embark on a walking tour to discover the citadel's famous landmarks and monuments:
  • The Medieval Towers: See several of the remaining 9 towers (out of the original 14). Among them, the Clock Tower is the best-preserved and currently houses the Sighisoara City Museum.
  • Historic Houses: View the Vlad Dracul House (the 15th-century birthplace of Vlad Tepes), the Venetian House, and the Stag House.
  • The Covered Staircase: Climb the historic wooden stairs to reach the top of the citadel.
  • Church on the Hill: Visit the third-largest Gothic church in Romania (after the Black Church in Brasov and St. Michael's Cathedral in Cluj-Napoca).

• The Black Church (Biserica Neagră): We will step inside the iconic monument of Brasov. This magnificent Gothic structure is the largest hall-church in Romania and the most significant Gothic house of worship between Vienna and Istanbul. Inside, you will marvel at its massive, historic organ and view a priceless, world-renowned collection of Anatolian/Oriental carpets.
• First Romanian School Museum: We conclude our morning tour with a visit to this deeply historic site, located in the old Romanian district of Șchei, where the first Romanian-language books were printed
• 12:00–13:30 Lunch at a local restaurant in Brasov.
• 13:30 Departure to Bran (Route distance: 35 km / Approx. 30–45 minutes by car).
• 14:00–15:30 Visit to Bran Castle Ranked among the top 10 most famous castles on Earth, Bran Castle is Romania’s ultimate tourism icon. Built at the end of the 14th century, the castle served as a royal residence for the beloved Queen Marie of Romania. Today, it belongs to her grandson, Archduke Dominic of Habsburg.

The Dracula Connection: Among the castle's most famous historical guests was Vlad Tepes himself. In 1462, he passed through Bran while being taken to Visegrád, where he was imprisoned for 12 years. This brief connection cemented the castle's association with the legendary myth of Count Dracula.

• 10.00-11.30 Visit to Peles Castle: Peles Castle is an architectural masterpiece, former Romanian Royale Family residence, today one of the richest museums of Romania. Built between 1875 and 1914 by the King Charles the First of Romania, in german style, is an architectural and artistical masterpiece, the only touristical monument so far in Romania, to receive ever more than 1 milion visitors in one year! 
• 11:30 Departure for the Danube Delta, Europe’s youngest and best-preserved wetland.
• Our scenic drive takes us through Ploiesti, Buzau, and Braila, crossing the sweeping Romanian Plains.
• The "Golden Gate of Romania": We will cross the Danube River via the spectacular Braila Suspension Bridge (famously dubbed the "Golden Gate of Romania"), which connects Braila to Tulcea. We then arrive in Tulcea, known as the gateway to the Danube Delta. (Total driving distance from Sinaia to Tulcea: 350 km / Approx. 5 hours by car). 
• A premium lunch box will be provided to enjoy during the journey.
• 16:30–17:00 We disembark from the coach and board our private boat. We will sail along the Sulina Branch, one of the three main navigable channels of the Danube Delta that flow into the Black Sea (the other two being Chilia to the north and Sfântu Gheorghe to the south). (Sailing distance from Tulcea to Crisan: 50 km / Approx. 1 hour by speed boat).

• Morning: Wildlife Excursion in the Water Paradise. we embark on a 3-to-4-hour boat excursion to explore this breathtaking paradise of winding waterways, lakes, and diverse birdlife.

About the Danube Delta: As the second-largest river delta in Europe (after the Volga Delta) and the best-preserved on the continent, the Danube Delta is a sprawling sanctuary of biodiversity. Formed where the Danube River empties into the Black Sea, the vast majority of the delta lies within Romania, with a small portion extending into Ukraine.

• 13:00 Return to the resort for a relaxing lunch.
• We dedicate our afternoon to visiting Sulina, sailing further down the Sulina Branch where the river meets the Black Sea. (Sailing distance from Crisan to Sulina: 24 km / Approx. 30 minutes by boat).

Historical Brief: Following the Crimean War (1853–1856), Sulina was chosen as the headquarters for the European Commission of the Danube. It quickly transformed into a highly cosmopolitan Porto Franco (free port), where a vibrant mix of nationalities lived, worked, and traded together.

• Sulina Walking Tour Highlights:
  • The Maritime / Cosmopolitan Cemetery: A unique historical site reflecting the diverse nationalities and faiths of old Sulina, including the famous "Pirate’s Grave."

Day 10: Crisan - Excursion in Danube Delta at Letea Forest - Crisan - Breakfast, Lunch box, Dinner

• Full-Day adventure: The Untamed Beauty of Letea Forest. We set out on a fascinating 7-to-8-hour excursion to the world-famous Letea Forest, one of the most magical highlights of the Danube Delta.
  • We will navigate a scenic network of remote delta canals to reach the village of Letea, located on the Letea Sand Ridge (Grindul Letea). From there, we will transfer to local safari-style vehicles to explore the protected area.
  • We will visit the oldest natural reserve in Romania. This spectacular ecosystem is famous for its sub-tropical appearance, where centuries-old oak trees grow alongside climbing lianas, nestled right against massive, sweeping sand dunes.
  • The true highlight of our day will be the chance to encounter the legendary wild horses of Letea. Hundreds of these beautiful, untamed horses roam freely across the reserve, creating a truly unforgettable sight.

Day 11: Crisan - Tulcea - Cernavoda - Bucharest - Breakfast, Dinner

• Leaving the delta, we check out of the resort and transfer to our private boat. We say goodbye to this paradisiacal corner of Romania and cruise back to Tulcea.
• 10:00 Arrive in Tulcea. Disembark from the boat and board our private motorcoach.
• Departure for Bucharest: we begin our journey to Romania's capital city, historically celebrated as the "Little Paris" for its elegant architecture and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
• We drive south across the Romanian countryside, crossing back over the Danube River at Cernavoda. (Total route distance: 350 km via Cernavoda / Approx. 4.5 to 5 hours by coach)
• As we pass through Cernavoda, a strategically vital city on the Danube River, your guide will share some fascinating historical facts:

The Anghel Saligny Bridge: Built between 1890 and 1895 by the visionary Romanian engineer Anghel Saligny, this structure was the longest bridge in Europe at the time of its completion. Today, the historic bridge stands as a testament to genius 19th-century engineering, while modern motorway and railway bridges handle today's traffic.

The Danube–Black Sea Canal: Cernavoda marks the starting terminus of this monumental canal (which ends at Agigea on the Black Sea coast). It is the third-longest man-made navigation canal in the world built in the 20th century, following the Suez and Panama canals.

Nuclear Power Plant: Cernavoda is also home to Romania’s only nuclear power station, which generates roughly 20% of the country's electricity

• Upon arrival in Bucharest, we discover that the capital is deeply connected to the Dracula legend:

The Founding of Bucharest: While romantic legends credit a shepherd named Bucur or Prince Mircea the Elder with founding the city, Bucharest's first official written attestation was signed by Vlad Tepes (the real Count Dracula) on September 21, 1459. The Old Princely Court (Curtea Veche) was originally established at the turn of the 15th century. Though devastating fires in 1718 and earthquakes in 1738 destroyed much of the original palace, its historic ruins and the Old Court Museum stand today in the heart of the Lipscani district as a monument to Vlad's reign.

• Late afternoon: arrival in Bucharest and hotel check-in

• 10:30-13:00 We continue with a panoramic tour of Bucharest: National Cathedral (The largest Orthodox Cathedral in the World)! Cathedral of the Patriachy, University Square, Revolution Square, Romanian Athenaeum (architectural masterpiece; here is the main hall of concerts for one of the most prestigious Classical Music Festivals on Earth (” George Enescu Festival”!), Unirii Square. 
• Transfer back at the hotel. Afternoon free at leisure.
